TO BE A VEGETARIAN OR NOT - An end to the fight between veg and non-veg
Plants produce food external to their life or it is like the milk of mammals which can be extracted without affecting the life form. However humans eat meat after allowing and growing the creatures to come into existence. Hence the meat they eat is created and destroyed by them, which is perfectly normal. Even in the normal world, killing for eating is considered a part and parcel of life. For prey animals dying is a normal routine which, once they complete their struggle to escape, accepts death quite easily. Their ghosts don’t form due to less satisfaction with earth life. Killing a creature to prevent future damage to us (a special feature of humans) is also accepted. But killing for fun is unpardonable because it unnecessarily terminates an organism’s bio system by the very logic that for food you will kill less, just enough to satisfy our hunger. So we are now clear as to where the sin exists.
Now for the thought of being a vegetarian. It is once own choice. If there were only vegetarians the green cover of the world would have been finished off by now. We can take an informed decision after going into the pros and cons of our diet. For the slow moving, sedentary city dwellers red meat may not be advisable.
Now about the cow/ horse/ dog, etc.; When you grow any animal in your house, it being dependant on you for its life, follows you around and adjusts to your whims and fancies of mood. Contrary to our belief these house animals realise your being, understands your family picture and plays along while trying to get their basic requirements of their life fulfilled. Over generations their genes are embedded with this info and they require no special training to adjust to our nature. They start thinking that they are part of our family and does acts which will support and please us. That is why a cat kills a rat or snake and brings it in front of you. Since their love towards us is pure and straight forward they can give up their life for our own in threatening situations. Humans really don’t fully reciprocate this attachment. That is why after milking the cow for a decade we leave them on the streets just because they have grown old and we cannot afford to look after them. Would we do this with our old mother and father?

Also they do not expect this since this life gets quickly imprinted in their genes over three generations. Earlier the chicken had only one major intervention from its environment to worry about, that is, the threat of being caught and eaten by predators and they had developed systems to allow their survival against them. If today you take a white leghorn poultry chicken and mix it suddenly in the village with village chickens especially male ones, it may not survive since it is now programmed to a safe, caged, readymade food, no male, simple life and quick termination. If we do not terminate its life suddenly, it still will not be able to cope up neither with the external environment nor with the rigours of graceful aging and dying, since the genes required for controlled aging has stopped expressing itself long ago. Mind you, the chicken three generations
are covered today in just a year.
Vice –versa is happening in human beings. We have been used to years of toil until our very old age. But come the twentieth century, our body is suddenly getting ready food with not much of physical toil. For generations the body which always looked for spare food to store in the body for use in times of food shortages, is now getting overwhelmed with excess spare foods and instead of letting it go, is grabbing and storing it in all sort of vacant spaces like the liver, pancreas, the blood vessels, the skin, etc. so much so that these store houses are deterring proper functioning of the organs, akin to an overloaded lorry trailer. Eventhough we know that we are overweight and sulky, we hog since the ‘earth man’ cannot let go of his earth craving, convincing the ‘I factor’ that nothing will happen.
Of course there are some practical difficulties. I was used to mutton and chicken and when I landed in Landsdown, my neighbour had a great taste for snake and dog meat and then he kept inviting me to taste his delicacies. I tasted them once and took to it, but my wife left me and went back.

It is an irony that humans who are the reasons for this situation suddenly start visualising a different life for these poor creatures. The same analogy applies to all life on this earth including humans. Life is so crazy and adjustable, that even if another species takes over and humans are subject to being ‘cultivated’ our life force will bring down its level of expectations and adapt (Maslow’s hierarchy of needs). In physical life the noblest emotion ‘love’ is a predetermined energy quantum, needed to combine and survive with another body/ bodies or organism, the very same analogy of cell to cell relation within our body [future post will deal with these energy streams in detail giving you an insight as to why many people pray for getting different emotions/intelligence/ power waves like wisdom ( the Hindu God Ganapathi, the Egyptian God Thoth) or the strength to learn/ study ( the Hindu God Saraswathi ), love (Greek God Aphrodite) or leave everything to the the combined and all in one Gods like Jesus Christ, Bhrama, Allah, God. This is intricately related to the vibratory patterns of the strings of the graviton waves].
In a lighter vein, being veg or non-veg or eating this animal or that, is individual choice. For people who consider their animals as part of their family, we can start an ‘old age food insurance’, or a ‘mediclaim’ scheme for animals so that people are enabled to look after them. But no, definitely not ‘Life insurance’ since it will speed up their death. If this is allowed then we will have to create a vast police force specialised in ‘animal killing’ crime detection.
